Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that the inclusion of his name in questions for the national examinations for high school students was planned by his rivals as a way to tarnish his image.
“It appears people set this up to damage my reputation,” Jokowi said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Jokowi said that there were people who specifically organized these questions in order to draw attention to mistakes that would be attributed to him.
Jokowi’s name appeared on the sociology exam papers circulated in Depok, a satellite city of Jakarta, tribunnews.com reported on Tuesday. The questions referred to Jokowi’s pro-poor initiatives.
The questions did not name Jokowi, but mentioned “Jakarta Governor” and Jokowi’s “Kartu Jakarta Sehat [Jakarta Health Card [KJS] program] and Kartu Jakarta Pintar [Jakarta Smart Card] program”.
The report came a day after a picture of an Indonesian language exam paper featuring Jokowi’s name was circulated on social media. (jakpost/ip)
